Oppostion leader Ranil Wickramasinghe who arrived in Chennai last evening en route to New Delhi has told reporters that the political situation in Sri Lanka is confusing. He said during his Indian visit he would meet top political leaders in New Delhi.
He, however, did not elaborate, when asked about the purpose of his visit, the issues he would discuss and the leaders he proposed to meet in New Delhi.
On the status of Tamil refugees housed in relief camps in Sri Lanka, Mr Wickramasingle, quoting an IMF report, said as on October 30, about 2.50 lakh Tamils were released from camps and resettled back to their original places. ''This is the status as on October 30. I have no information on the present status'', he added. Mr Wickramasinghe described as 'confusing', when asked about the present political situation in the Island Nation. (UNI)
